liability for park facilities

This is more of a reference then a blog.

For those wondering what sort of law exists in Tennessee for protecting both public and private landowners that have made their land available for recreational use, here it is: http://www.americanwhitewater.org/resources/repository/Tennessee_Recreational_Use_Statute.htm

This law was passed in 1988, probably in response to the peak of lawsuits that were particularly in vogue during the 80s- of course at the cost of shutting a lot of cool skateparks down as well tearing out a lot of "old-school" playground equipment .

We'll let's hope the liability climate has changed a bit.

Here's a summary of all the states recreational use statutes: http://www.americanwhitewater.org/archive/article/123/
