Skate deck art contest

I recently received an email from Shalishah Franklin of Strange Fruit productions.

They are hosting the first Memphis skate deck art competition. Way to go Fruit & Sneeks!

Here are the details:

Strange Fruit Productions has partnered with an urban lifestyle boutique on Madison, Sneak Peek - Memphis to develop a deck design competition. This competition, Spring Board 2009, began accepting applications this week from any visual artists throughout our community. See the picture above.

From that pool of applicants we will be selecting 25 finalists to design original artwork on decks that we will be supplying. The final products will be showcased on April 10th in the boutique and attendees will have the opportunity to vote and select the "People's Choice."

The winner will get a bevy of goods including a $250 gift card to Sneak Peek, being featured in a photo shoot for the boutique and have their board reproduced in limited edition quantities with a portion of proceeds benefiting the winning artist.
